Single Jersey, also known as basic fabric, is a weft knitted fabric. It is knitted with one row of needles. This fabric has a flat loop on one side and a reverse loop structure on the other side and that’s why its front and back faces are different from each other. This fabric is produced in the form of tubes on circular knitting machines, but can also be cut and used in the form of open width. Wide widths can be acquired for single jersey fabric. This widely used fabric is generally soft, stretchy, and easy to wear. It is easy to iron and it is fairly crease resistant. As this fabric has a broad weight range, it can be used for garments suitable for all seasons.
Mainly recommended for t-shirts, dresses, underwear, leggings, home wear, sportswear, and bedding.
